A gentle caress touches her skin,
Weaving a magic spell over her sleeping form...
A blinding white light,
Brilliantly magnified,
Bathes her angelic profile...
The darkness of eternity has reached her.
Falling through a veil of flowers to land
Unharmed and glowing
Within the realm of all things sweet,
She passes her fingers over all she sees.
Curiosity,
The remaining strand of humanity within her.
Nothing in life was ever meant to be this serene.
An undying shadow follows behind her,
Unseen by her mortal eyes.
Wandering,
Face filled with awe at the sterile perfection,
She stumbles and falls,
Landing upon a cloud below.
With softness beneath her fingertips
She raises herself,
Running about the blue sky with a smile;
She does not understand.
The lies she was lead to believe are all around her.
The promised Kingdom is not what it seems.
Purity is clothed in the black of night.
Sudden pain wracks her body,
Tearing apart her kind and loving soul.
She falls to her knees,
Crying tears of blood and hatred as
Horns of light slowly break through her fragile skin,
Binding her to her fate.
The black shadow steps up from behind her,
His gentle arms slowly enfolding her fallen figure.
Tears of pain and sadness in his eyes,
He buries his face in her hair...
"I tried to save you..."
He whispers,
"But you believed in God."
