I decided to give Final Boss a try because I knew from experience that he has two lower levels with him. I was able to take out the 2 level 50 "minions" (quite easily too!) but I can't even say with confidence that the level 90 took any damage at all. It SAID that he did... but his health bar wasn't moving enough for me to notice the difference. Mine, on the other hand, dipped and died. That last screenshot. Ouch. I guess I really am going to need to level up before I can finish. *curses and shakes fist at the screen* I was really hoping to get them all done.
After giving up on ShellShock, and taking the time to sort of eat supper, the rest of my evening was spent playing Skyborn. My first move was to storm Blackstone Industries and steal some paperwork that would give me access to areas of the city that are usually off limits to human "filth". After entering the 5th Legion Fortress, I went North and found the arena. I decided to fight my way through the Colosseum tournaments... and failed on the last one, battle 15. The Colosseum Champion kicked our butts without breaking a sweat. I tried again. And again. Failed. And failed again.
Inside the Venom Depths - Southern Portal, you're next!
At that point I decided that I could probably use some more experience, a few extra levels, and better gear. First stop was the Caladori Desert so that I could explore the Caverns. It was slightly disappointing - there really wasn't much there. Since I ended up back in the Port district anyway, I decided to check out the Venom Depths next. They were far more exciting. So far I've completed the East and West wings. I tried to go North to complete The Gauntlet but it seems I'm still missing some cards (next objective, maybe?) and it was getting late so I decided to save the Southern area for tomorrow. Once I'm done with the cards and the Depths, it will just be a matter of beating the Colosseum Champion and then I'm off to the endgame!
And this man. This heartbreaking man.
I was really okay with murdering the hell out of Dhacian before I found out who he really is. Now, I'm less okay with it and really wish that there was some way that I could redeem his character. I hate when I end up having to destroy someone that I have formed an attachment to, and I have a hell of a soft spot for broken males. In any case... I guess I'll see how it all plays out when next we meet. I have to beat both him and the last boss on Hard for an achievement, so I still have some gearing and leveling to go before I get there. But when I do... Sadness.
