So I have officially reached the cap of what I can do singleplayer in ShellShock Live - for now at least. The last three missions involve me taking on AI tanks that are more than double my level and I just can't put out enough damage to really hurt them all that much (despite trying... multiple times). I'm thinking that they expected players to engage in multiplayer rounds between single player missions... but ehhh. I'd rather not. Hopefully A. will have the game soon and then maybe. I'm actually not sure how that's going to work, considering that I'm already level 36 and he's going to be starting from scratch, but I'm sure we'll figure it out.
Another thing that I need to work on in ShellShock is using my upgrade points, as I haven't touched them yet. I looked them up today, but there seems to be a lot of conflicting information about where the points should be allocated and what would work best. From what I can understand, Chassis and Track are probably the most valuable, but with all the issues I've been having with those last three missions... I'm wondering about Gun.

Fuck it. Going to do a quick Google, then stuff my upgrade points in now and update with a new picture. And done:

Now that I've put upgrade points in, I'm really tempted to try the missions again and see if it makes any difference (there's my annoying stubbornness). I know that it's unlikely, given my level, but... you never know. I think I'll do that once I'm done with this blog post, which leads me to:
Skyborn! I played a little bit more today, and even redid Alda's school trial so that I could get the special achievement that comes from it.

In order to get the achievement, you need to move *really* fast and, by collecting time nodes, finish the trial with more time than you started with. Apparently it's impossible to do on Normal mode (which is how I was playing the other night when I originally completed it), so I switched it to Easy and got it done tonight. Every second really does count. I took a couple of wrong turns the first time through and... no achievement. They don't give you any room for error. I'm kind of glad that I knew about the achievement going in and that I had a save file, because once it's finished you can't redo it unless you have one to load from.
I'm still really enjoying the game, and the story is great. Tonight's playtime came with a little reveal that explained a bit more about the different races, including one that has (mostly) been wiped out - except, that is, for Chaska.

Up until now we've known very little about her, and she has known very little about herself. Born with a horribly misshapen and clawed arm, she's been living underground and hiding away from everyone. She has no idea what she is, and the people she's chanced to encounter haven't exactly been kind towards her due to her appearance. She is very clearly neither Human nor Skyborn, and the word monster has been used frequently. Well, turns out that she is not a monster - she's Fey. If you don't mind spoilers, the following video explains the history, and her people's ties to the Skyborn.
And that's really it for tonight. I'm hoping to finish Skyborn really soon, and then I'll be writing a review for you all. I know, the excitement. For now though, quick ShellShock Live test run and then bed. Good night everyone. <3
*Editing to update: Upgrades helped! "Mission: Chaos" completed, new challenge completed - yay, achievement! Now bedtime, for real this time.
