I spent this evening with Skyborn, finishing up the tasks that I had left and making my way through endgame. It's complete, and I'm satisfied. 24/24 achievements unlocked, characters levelled up nicely, storyline wrapped up *just* well enough that the possibility of a sequel is open. And my heart? It survived. I'm happy with the way that they ended the game.
And honestly? I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would, and I liked that I was mostly on my own while playing it. There isn't a whole lot of information out there about the game and that means that when you're stuck and hit up Google, you won't necessarily find your answer. Don't get me wrong - there are one or two walkthroughs that you can refer to if you need a hand getting through. But help with gearing, help with augments... not easy to find. And that's kind of refreshing. You have to make choices on your own, based on your playstyle and what you think will work well. And it did work well.
I'm not going to go into a whole lot of detail about the game tonight - it's late and I'm exhausted and need sleep - but the fact that it is complete means one very important thing: a review is coming! I'll be working on it over the next couple of evenings, and I hope to have it out to you by the weekend.
As for my next game? Going back to FFIX. I think I need some more Vivi in my life. <3
