I bought a new game that I really wanted to try so I almost skipped painting today, but I decided that I actually really wanted to do that so I did. I tried to recreate a charcoal drawing that I completed and loved in high school. I sort of succeeded... I guess. Painting is really hard. Way harder than I gave it credit for. I'm hoping that I'll get better with time because I'm finding that right now, my pieces are really flat. I chose to use only black and white tonight, which really didn't help with the flatness. Oh well, live and learn.

My flat little fairy.
I think that tomorrow I'm going to focus on shapes and colour - I want to get used to blending different colours into each other so that when I finally work on more realistic pieces, I'll have that down pat. Right now I'm terribly out of practice and I chose a medium that I'm not at all familiar with. It's great for growth, but that growth might be a tad slow. Ah well, I'm enjoying it and I'm dedicated.
Speaking of dedication - I spoke with M. and my father today about converting the shed into an artist's den and... it looks like it's feasible people. I may be getting my little artsy hidey hole after all. I'm going to look into insulation and walling, as well as heating and cooling units, and see how much this is going to cost me. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get it done over the next few months so that I can be working in there by the end of this summer. *crosses fingers* It'll be nice to have an area all to myself, where I can leave the things I'm working on out and all around, without worry that my children will get into it all. This is going to be perfect.
And that's really it for today. I'm going to go play my game for a little bit and then get something up for a gaming blog. <3 Love you all.
